I'm Not Anti-Semitic nor Lawless!

Before I begin please allow me to give you a little of my family history!  Please think of my last name!  Silverman: Jewish?  Yeppers!  For years church people think that I am special because of my Jewish back ground.  I love to burst their bubble when I tell them that God loves them just as much as me!  lol

In regards to some background: My paternal Grandfather, son of an Orthodox Jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe, was booted out of his family by his father because he married a Gentile woman.  My dad and his brother and sister were raised in Christian churches by their mother.  In those days, they would visit a church and be asked to leave because of their Jewish background. My how times have changed!  I share this info with you because I want you to know that I am no anti-Semitic in the slightest bit!  However, I do understand, at least to a degree, what Christ has done for me and live in a new covenant lifestyle, free from the bondage of law!

Because of my stand on the old covenant Law of Moses, including the "Big Ten" I am often accused of being lawless.  I am not lawless, I just know the truth of the New Covenant Gospel of Jesus Christ that was brought into the Early Church through direct revelation from Christ Himself to Paul.  (See Galatians chapter 1) In other words I believe in and preach the Gospel that Paul preached!  To some that makes me lawless.  But let's check out what Paul had to say about some of this........

Verse 7: "The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death..."

Verses 8-9: " Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God!"

Verse 11: "So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!"

Verses 12-15: "12 Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 14 But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand."

You see, I fully believe in the above verses of Scripture.  Note my highlights and in so doing, please note that Christ instituted the "New Way" and it was free from the Law which lead to condemnation and death!

Nope...I'm not Anti-Semitic nor Lawless.  I'm just a follower of Jesus Christ and am so thankful for his finished works that give me life in the New Covenant that God established through Him!

Grace and peace!
