So Why Don't You Attend Church?

Here is a true story.  I have a neighbor, I'll call him Joe.  Joe loves God!  When he and his family moved into the neighborhood a couple of years ago I had a great time talking with him about his past Church experiences.  He and the family used to be very active in a church in another part of the State several years ago.  Joe even was the worship leader of this church.  Joe told me that God had been giving him revelations on the importance of Grace and he really liked what I was telling him about our church, New Covenant Grace Fellowship in Inverness, FL.  A year or so ago I gave Joe a copy of my book, "The River is Here: My Journey Into New Covenant Grace." A day or so later I met Joe at our mail boxes.  He told me that he had devoured the book in just a couple of settings.  His exact words were, "Larry, that is the best book I've ever read!"  He then told me that he needed to visit our church.  As of this writing Joe has never stepped through the door of our church! Yet, every time I see Joe at the mailboxes he asks, "How's the church going? I've got to get there one of these days!" And he never makes it!

I have been perplexed by Joe and the many others just like Joe that I've come in contact with over the past few years.  I see daily how the "message," for lack of a better word, of New Covenant Grace is setting people so free that I just cannot understand why people don't stand in line to get it!  I just don't get it!

As far as Joe goes, my feeling is that he and his family just got burned out in past church experiences.  As a result they haven't gone to a church in several years, they are out of the habit, and to be honest, just a little lazy about making the effort to attend.  I guess there could always be the thought in mind of, "I've been there,  I've done that and I've bought the T shirt!" So, it just isn't worth the effort to get involved in a church again, after all, "I might get hurt!" As a result of this thinking so many are just comfortable with making Sunday morning just another part of their very busy weekend, in other words, play! play! play! (or sleep in, whatever the case may be!)

One of my challenges is to share Grace with the people of our community who feel just like Joe.  I and many others believe that being a part of our church is very beneficial and healthy for those who do so.  Here is a short video testimony of Jackie Hallock.  Jackie has been transformed over the past couple of years. Watch and see for yourself: Jackie's Testimony

I know that many people these days no longer attend a local church.  They have been hurt, are burned out, distracted by life and no longer see the benefit of church attendance.  In many cases, I would agree as there is no way I would ever attend a church that mixes law with grace!  However, we are not kidding when we state that our goal is to make certain that when people attend one of our services that they leave that service feeling better about themselves than when they arrived.  I believe that we are doing a pretty good job at that.

So....what do you think.....Is there really a good reason for you not attending a church service this coming Sunday morning?  Something to think about!

Grace and peace!

Is the Bible God's Word?

Here is a very interesting verse, that I never hear any teaching or comments on these days: I Thessalonians 2:13 (NLT), "Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message FROM US, you didn't think of OUR WORDS as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as THE VERY WORD OF GOD- which, of course, IT IS. And this word continues to work in you WHO BELIEVE." Of course I added the emphasis with the CAPS, but Paul's message is pretty eye opening.

Remember, Paul received his message from Christ Himself. He said in Galatians 1:12, "I received my message fro no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ."

It seems like so many are attacking the Bible, claiming that it is not the Word of God. I know where many of these Peeps are coming from as Jesus is the true Word of God. However, Paul is making a very important point to the Thessalonian Church. He's stating, without wavering by the way, that Jesus taught him his New Covenant message. Because Paul then goes on and teaches the message that Christ taught him, he is just repeating what Christ taught him, thus, it IS the Word of God, because it came directly from God (Christ.) In my early days of getting revelations of Grace, I kept hearing, "Make sure you preach the Gospel that Paul preached!" I didn't understand that then, but I sure do now!!!!

It seems that there are many attacking the Bible these days!  I'm sorry to say that some within what might be called, "The Grace Camp" are doing so as well.  The attack seems so centered on the fact that in reality Jesus is the Word of God, not the Bible.  Yet, so much of what God has released to mankind is found in the words of the Bible.  I have no problem, none at all, in calling my Bible the Word of God. I just know how to understand it. (Refer to my teaching on the Four Steps to Proper Bible Interpretation found in my book, "The River is Here: My Journey Into New Covenant Grace") The truth is that I found the revelations of Grace within the words of my Bible.  Without doubt the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to all that I see these days, yet all of those words were on the pages of my Bible!

I have no problem in calling my Bible the Word of God!  None at all!

The Gospel Paul preached is the same Gospel I preach! Yes, my friends.....I preach from my Bible every Sunday and I'm not ashamed by that! My Bible contains the message of New Covenant Grace! Glory!

Grace and Peace!

Just Thinking: I really find it interesting that so many love God with all of their hearts, but have been caught up in the lie of religion that they are still sinners and need to repent all of the time!

See the problem with this is that such action keeps Christ on the cross. Paul says in both Heb. 8 and again in Heb. 10 17, "I will NEVER AGAIN remember their sins and lawless deeds." Actually Paul is quoting the Father in Jer. 31:31-34 where he tells his people about the wonderful new covenant that he will one day institute through Christ. Paul goes on to say in Heb. 10:18, "And when their sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices." So, those of you who believe that you still sin, I've got news for you, there isn't any more sacrifice for those continued sins. You are really in trouble, as Christ is no longer on the cross, he's now seated at the right hand of the Father and spiritually dwelling within our hearts!

I just wish people would forget all of the false teaching that they have been believing and take a fresh look at what the Bible really says! I too used to believe like that then one day I began to see that the stuff I was taught, and what I so often taught others, was completely wrong. It was a hard pill to swallow, but oh how it's changed my life and the lives of many I know! I'm more in love with Jesus than ever! Glory!

Grace Marches On!

Over the past few days I've really been encouraged by the number of people who have contacted me and stated that I've been able to help them see God's plan for  their lives more clearly.  People are, more and more, beginning to see that much of their old understanding of God, the Bible, even the works that Christ did for them have been so limited by wrong teaching.  They are finally grasping at the concept that trying to serve God from any form of legalistic efforts on their part is just vanity.  Many have told me that they are staying home from church as they know that there is something more, but they just haven't been able to find it in the Church. I tell you, Church Peeps are frustrated these days!

The traditional church message, the one of religion, is; "Do, Do, Do!"  The contrasting message of New Covenant Grace is simply; "REST!" Those who do not understand this difference accuse me of compromise.  One Facebook Friend told me the other day that she, "has to repent all of the time!"  So many have been sold that "bill of goods" but the truth is that she is holy and righteous and it is not by what she did or didn't do, it's totally by what Christ did for her on the cross!  What a difference!

Guess what happens in all of this?  When people, those who still do "dumb, stupid things," begin to believe that they are holy and righteous, no matter what they are still doing, the "dumb, stupid things" become less and less.  Why?  Because God created us to become what we believe!  Religion just doesn't understand that concept, probably never will, but as the revelations of New Covenant Grace continue to be poured out, the transformations in God's Kids increases exponentially!  What an exciting time we are living in!

I told our church last Sunday (New Covenant Grace Fellowship in Inverness, FL) that I believe that we have entered the Church's Finest Hour!  I'm excited, actually very pumped!  I hope that you are too!

Yes my Friend, the New Covenant Revolution....Grace is marching on and nothing can stop it!  Glory!

Grace and Peace!
