Is the "Veil" Clouding Your Mind?

In 2 Corinthians 3: 14 Paul states the following, (NLT) "But the people's minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth.  And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ."

Over the past few years the Holy Spirit has been revealing Grace to me.  As I've shared these revelations with others, both in and outside of my church, some have rejected my message.  Some actually get very upset with me, even to the point of calling me names.  I sometimes have asked the Lord, "What is this all about?  Why do some see Grace so plain and others don't seem to see a thing?" My only answer seems to be what Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 3:14.  I guess that is the only thing that actually makes sense.  After all, to reject the message of New Covenant Grace is to actually reject the finished work of Christ himself.

Please note that Paul's antidote for this malady is simple belief in Christ.  Again he stated in the second part of the verse, "And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ."  Now here is where this post will get rather "sticky."  Everyone who calls themselves a Christian will state that they believe in Christ.  Yet, saving faith is not what Paul is speaking of here!  This part of verse 14 may actually be a translation problem as what Paul is really saying here is, "This veil can only be removed by believing in all that Christ has done for us!"  In other words, if you believe that Christ did not deal with all sin, past, present and future, you are not really believing in all that Christ has done for you!  This means that you are still under the veil!

As always, I am posting this Blog so that people might begin to truly think about these types of things.  I wish to challenge the belief system that so many of us have, that of only believing what we've been taught by others, and not necessarily what the Bible really teaches.  We have the wonderful ministry of the Holy Spirit.  It is his responsibility to lead us, guide us into all truth.  He keeps us from doing the bad things that some still call, "sin."  The New Covenant is in full force so please....let's not any longer be mixing the Old with the New!

Grace and Peace!
