I Insist That Everyone Learns Grace!

That's right, I insist that everyone learns Grace!  Why?  Because Paul told me to!  Actually he told Timothy, "Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them." (I Timothy 4:11 NLT)  I figure it this way...If Paul told Timothy to insist that everyone learn Grace, then that is also good enough for me!  Get it?

In keeping with the context of this verse we note that it takes place in the midst of Paul's stern warning about the false teachers of the "last times."  (Verses 1 and 2).  What is interesting here is that some people these days are saying that the "false teachers" are the ones preaching "hyper grace" and stuff like that.  They suggest that the "hyper grace" crowd is giving people a license to sin and are teaching lawlessness.  So, let's take a clear look at what Paul really told Timothy about this subject:

"Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead."

The King James says that these false teachers of the last days, the days in which we are currently living in, will be teaching "doctrines of demons."  Therefore, some today are saying that these "doctrines" are teaching people that they are free to sin, etc.  Yet the Scriptures are very clear who these "false teachers" really are and they are not those who are currently preaching preaching Grace!  Note the context of everything by looking at verse 3a, "They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods."  By their very message, the false teachers are identifying themselves as those who are not preaching Grace at all, rather they are those who are still under the law and propagating it to all of the Church, especially the gentiles!

Get this....The false teachers, those who are truly preaching and teaching "doctrines of demons" are the religious crowd of today who are still busy trying to mix law with Grace!

Paul then tells Timothy, (verse 6)"If you explain these things to the brothers and sisters, Timothy, you will be a worthy servant of Christ Jesus, one who is nourished by the message of faith and the good teaching you have followed." So, there you have it, I am a worthy servant of Christ Jesus because I am teaching the doctrine that Paul taught!  I am a radical, teacher of "hyper Grace!"  Why?  Because that is the Good News that changed the world.  People, you are free!  Religion wishes to hold you in bondage, but Christ died to set you free!

Those are my thoughts and I'm sticking to them!  So, I insist that you learn Grace!  After all, it is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Grace and Peace!

Proof Is In The Pudding!

I'm sure you have heard the old saying, "The proof is in the pudding!" Simply put this old saying means that it doesn't make any difference what I say about something as the bottom line, actual results, is what makes the difference.  I can state that I make the best pudding in the world, but by actually tasting it is the only to know that for certain.

Paul fully understood this old saying.  In 2 Corinthians 3:2 he says, "The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves.  Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you."  I fully agree with Paul, as this is exactly how I feel about what is going on in the lives of the people we are ministering the truths of New Covenant Grace to here in Citrus County, FL.  Our church, New Covenant Grace Fellowship, is blazing with testimonies of personal victory.  I am totally blown away about the spiritual growth I am seeing take place in the lives of our people!  Last evening Corinne and I attended one of the small home meetings of our church and we came home totally overwhelmed by the spiritual maturity of these people!

I could list a bunch of personal testimonies here, but in order to keep this post short, suffice it to say, that the proof of my teaching is in the lives of the people who are sitting under my teaching!   Now this may sound a little competitive, but I'll compare the people of my church to those of any church!  Actually, all I'm doing here is bragging on Jesus!  See, here is the truth about Grace...It isn't me doing this at all!  I guess the only thing I can take credit for is that I'm only doing what Christ has asked me to do.  No big deal there!  I'm just telling people about all that Christ has done for them.  They are believing it and consequently, their lives are being transformed!

OK... I'm pumped!  In just a few hours I get to meet with more of these precious Saints in our Wednesday evening meeting.  I can't wait!  Once more, I trust you understand my boasting in this post.  I'm boasting on Christ!  Yep, I sure am!  Oh... you may know someone living in our region... Tell them about what God is doing here.  I assure you, you will not be sorry!

Grace and Peace!

"Give Me That Old Time Religion!"

This morning one of our church guys heard the old song, "Give Me That Old Time Religion" and said the following:

"Larry--I heard that popular old gospel song," Give Me that Old Time Religion," and I really listened to the lyrics for the first time...."It can take us all to heaven, give me that old time religion, its good enough for me" That really sums up most Christians today, finding comfort in the box called religion, clear definite boundaries that give clear rules and direction, and the easy way to get back in the box when we do step out of it. Another stanza says" it makes me love everybody"...I got a good laugh from that when I thought about all the religious folks I know!"

I think this brother has a pretty good take on this old song of the "Church."  Just FYI here are the lyrics of the song:

Give me that old time religion, old time religion, old time religion, its' good enough for me!

It was good for Paul & Silas, good for Paul and Silas, good for Paul and Silas, and it's good enough for me!

It was good for Mama and daddy...

Makes me love everybody

Here is the thought I had about the song...note the verse, "It was good for Paul and Silas," well if the "Old Time Religion" actually was the message that Paul and Silas preached then I would want it too.  However, let's look at religion over the past several hundred years and to be honest, I don't want anything to do with it.  I also fully believe that Paul and Silas wouldn't either.  Remember Galatians 1: 8 (NLT), "Let God's curse fall on anyone, inducing us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you."  He repeats himself in verse 9!

Paul's Gospel was one of New Covenant Grace and there was no mixture of works, law or of the Old Covenant in it.  The Book of Galatians is perfect proof of what I've stated here.  Paul received His Good News from Christ Himself!  Galatians 1: 12, "I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me, Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ."

When I first began becoming aware of the true New Covenant Grace message, these verses in Galatians became very important to me.  I would ask myself, "Am I preaching and teaching Paul's message?"  This became and still is a vital benchmark for my ministry.

So.. I'm not at all interesting in going back to the "Old Time Religion" of law mixing that only leads to fear, shame and condemnation.  I want to circumvent all of that stuff, and go totally, way back...to the true "Old Time Religion" that Paul preached!

Here is a sample of Paul's "Old Time Religion:"

Ephesians 1: 4, "Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes."  Now that is the "Old Time Religion" that Paul and Larry Silverman preach!  How about you?

Grace and Peace!

Every Bad Deed is Now Blamed on Grace!

I've been a Christian since 1973.  All during that time I've noted many other Christians doing some very bad things.  However,  lately, when ever I speak about the sin killing aspects of the cross someone will say, "I know of this preacher who ran off with another woman....what about that?"  Or, "Brother Billy Bob just can't stay clear of the moonshine....what about him?"  And the list goes on and on!

Today it seems that we have many well-known ministers blaming every bad deed on us "Hyper Grace Preachers," of which I am proud to be one!  I just read where a famous pastor, has been evangelist, now is saying that we "Hyper Grace Preachers" are leading many people to hell.  I made a comment about this guy, gently asking the question, "What is this guy smoking?"  Come on!!! Give me a break!  Isn't it just interesting that now every person who does a stupid, dumb, work of the flesh type of thing is doing it because he/she was influenced by some "Hyper Grace Preacher!"

Hey Bunkie.. I've got bad news for you!  People have been doing bad, evil, dumb, stupid, works of the flesh type things, way before this modern movement of "Hyper Grace" ever arrived on the scene!  Matter of fact... here is a revelation for you... I John 1: 8-9 is a license to sin!  "What?" you ask!  "Whadda ya mean by that?"  Well, it's a fact!  See religious people are emphatic that we who are preaching true Bible Grace are giving people a license to sin.   However, the true fact is, that those who are fully into the revelation of TRUE Bible Grace are so far from sin (works of the flesh) that it's miraculous!  Yet, those who propagate that Christian's still can sin are actually the ones who are giving people a license to do so!

I John 1:8 states, "If we say we have no sin we are lying."  Verse 9 states, "If you confess your sin God is faithful to forgive your sin and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness!"  I know for a fact that these verses are not written to true Christians!  I also know, by keeping everything in context, that chapter 3: 6 says, "Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin.  But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is!" So which is it?  Christian...do you still commit sin?  If so then you really don't know Christ!!!!

Yet, the premise that you sin, then repent, sin then repent, is creating a license to sin!  That is why I John 1:9 is giving the  green light to sin as it makes a way of escape every time someone does it!  So, I would much rather rely on the life changing qualities of my Savior, knowing that He crucified my sin nature along with himself on the cross.  I'm now the righteousness of God and no longer have much desire to "sin!"  Matter of fact, the more I'm becoming aware of all that Christ did for me, the less desire for that junk I really have!

Please allow me to close with lifting up my Wonderful Jesus with I Corinthians 1: 30 (NLT), "God has united you with Christ Jesus.  For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself.  Christ has made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin!"  Oh....Glory!  What a Savior!!

Grace & Peace!

"Charisma" Strikes Again!

It seems that "Charisma Magazine" (online) has once again come forth as the Policeman of the Church!  Facebook is being flooded by links to the latest rant against the so called, "Grace Movement."  This rant is by Mike Bickle, the leader of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO.  I read Bickle's article and discovered just more of the same old thoughts that those who oppose Grace seem to state.  I do not want to get too much into his article, tearing it apart, etc.  Rather I would just like to make a statement or two...

Statement #1...directed to "Charisma"..When are you going to publish the other side of the story?  Years ago, when "Charisma" fought against a popular move of God in Florida, I called the magazine the "Revival Police."  That term caught on and people used it over and over.  Then, like now, it seemed that this group would think of themselves as the "Church's Watchdog."  Instead of reporting news, they promote their bias.  Come on...tell both sides and let people make up their own minds on this subject!

Statement #2...directed to all who oppose the so called, "Grace movement"...When are you going to oppose the real problem within the Church...that of legalism, control, and mixing law with Grace?  Listen...this goes on all of the time.  I know because I used to be one of these preachers.  I can't tell you how my heart aches over the people I hurt by my preaching of performance based Christianity.  I didn't share the Good News at all!

We all the time hear of people that are "sinning" because of the "Grace Message."  Maybe in some cases this is so.  I guess there is always a rotten apple in a bushel.  But where is the ire about all of those who have been hurt in church.  You know them...they love God but refuse to attend a church anywhere!

Last weekend I was called a heretic again.  I'm getting used to this treatment. A couple of weeks ago a pastor I know hung up the phone on me as he called what I was publishing, "Irresponsible!"  But all I'm trying to do is to lift up Christ like I've never lifted Him up in my entire life.  I'm pointing people to Jesus..to His finished work on the cross.  The people who are listening to me are walking in places with the Lord that I've never seen anyone walk in before.  I even have to say that my walk is off the charts and I've been saved since 1973!  This is the most exciting thing in my entire life with any desire to sin...just about gone!

However, I've noted something...the "Police" of today really don't care about testimonies of victory.  They certainly don't care about Scripture because when shown that Christians don't sin any more, they just spout their same old rhetoric!  Do you realize that most people form their doctrine on what they have been taught by others, and not by what the Word of God states!

Well, that's my rant for the day!  I'm having the time of my life in my new found freedom and my new found appreciation of Jesus Christ!  I'm on a crusade...sharing this with whosoever will listen!  I'm excited, pumped and encouraged by Jesus Christ who lives within me and speaks to me so clearly by His Holy Spirit.

So to all, even those who oppose my beliefs, I pronounce the New Covenant blessing on you all....GRACE AND PEACE!

I Believe ALL Sin is Forgiven!

I believe that according to the doctrinal books of the Bible.... that all sin, not just past sin, is forgiven.  I believe that our sin nature died on the Cross with Christ.  I believe that "where there is no law, there is no sin!"  I believe in a very complete atonement, one that made us "complete."  I also believe that God Himself dwells within each Believer and that He gives us the power to walk and live holy lives!  I also believe  that we no longer live under the Old Covenant of law, but now under the New Covenant of Grace.  You see, I am no longer "sin conscience but Christ conscience!

Now you would be surprised about how angry people, my Brothers and Sisters, get with me due to my beliefs!  A little three letter word, "S-I-N" really gets people worked up when you tell people that they are free from it!  I mean people really get angry at me!  Telling people the true Good News of what Christ has done for them can get folks very upset!  Wouldn't you think that the true message of Grace would get people excited about what Christ has done for them?  It has me!  I'm more excited about Jesus than I've ever been in my life!  I'm watching the people of our church growing like weeds in the middle of your garden!  We are pumped, excited and ready to change the world.  And it's all because we are finally understanding that we no longer live under the Old Covenant, but the New!

I was called a "heretic" again this weekend!  These words are running off my back just like water off the ducks.  However, I'm so saddened by these people!  Last night I awoke around 2:30 a.m. and all I could do is pray for all who are attacking me.  I'm praying that the revelation of New Covenant Grace will just burn in their bellies!  I know that it can happen as this is exactly what happened to me!  I used to be one who attacked those with this revelation.  Now look at me... I'm one of them!  If you would told me 2 years ago that I would be preaching some of the things I'm preaching these days I would have said that you have lost your mind!  But look at me now!!!!

So... if you don't agree with me, then please leave me alone!  I'm having the time of my life!  I'll never go back to the "old way!"  Never!!!

Grace and Peace!
