Is it Wednesday Yet?

Hi All,

I have a huge problem!  The people of New Beginnings Fellowship are creating a great problem for me!  They keep asking me, "Is it Wednesday yet?"  Can you believe it???  They really don't like taking a couple of nights off from meetings!  We actually have some people that have attended just about every meeting in 16 weeks!  One Brother has only missed one and that was the night that his car broke down!  You know, in order for people to feel like this, it means that something must really be happening in these meetings!  

I have to admit... something is happening!  We all know that people, "vote with their feet!"  I know that if we have another week like last week we'll all be blessed out of our socks!  Wow!

Here's the schedule for this week:  Week #16 of "Spreading the Fire!"

Tonight (Wed.)..... Our own Leon Ellis will minister.  You don't want to miss this meeting!  Leon's ministry is awesome!

Thurday. night.... I'll be ministering

Friday night.... Our own Bill Tosh will minister.  And you don't want to miss this meeting either!  Bill is full of the Fire of God!!!

A.     This week, I feel that God has confirmed to us all, that NBF is quickly approaching “Critical Mass!” 

-How many of you would agree with me?

-Something is happening in our church!  Glenn Bleakney told me after Friday night’s meeting that he feels that something is about to explode here! 

-Share some of the week’s happenings! (Testimonies of the people… what happened this week?)

 

B.      Here’s some practical advice while we’re heading in this very powerful direction!

James 4:6-8 (New Living Translation)

⁶ But he gives us even more grace to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say,

   “God opposes the proud
      but favors the humble.”^[a]

 ⁷ So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

James 4:6-8 (The Message)

 ^4-6You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover." And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble."

 ^7-10So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.

-So while we are building towards “Critical Mass” here are some steps to take:

1.  v. 6:  Walk in all of God’s “grace” that you can get for yourself!

2.  Stand against “evil desires” especially pride! 

-This is a very important step… Folks… let us NEVER get prideful or big headed about what God is doing here!  Several times this week as God was moving so strongly, I just walked around the platform watching God move and just declared over and over… “Oh Lord my God… HOW GREAT THOU ART!”

-You and I must NEVER lay claim or title to anything that God is doing at NBF!

-The words of John the Baptist:

John 3:29-31 (New Living Translation)

²⁹ It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the best man is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. ³⁰ He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

 ³¹ “He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else.^[a]

3.   “Resist the devil and he will flee from you!”

4.   "Come close to God and He will come close to you!”

5.   Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the          world!”

      -Ask the Lord if this is indeed the case with you?  Is your loyalty to God divided?

 

Close:

Friends we are very possibly in for the greatest ride of our life!  Anything can happen!  I just have to believe that when the first atomic scientists saw the results of the first atomic test bomb, they completely had their socks blown off!  They knew that something big was going to happen, but they had no idea at just how big it this bomb was going to be!  Just think all of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were completely destroyed by a “Critical Mass!”  Well…. Just turn it around… make it positive… Think of what is going to happen here in Citrus County when we reach this “Critical Mass!”
