When I was a school kid, I won't tell you how long ago that was, a part of our history class was, "Current Events." It seemed like many of the students did not like that part of the history class, many did not like history period! I was always intrigued by history. I loved to study it, I actually loved the "Current Events" studies as well. I also like politics! I could have been a politician had I not been called to a higher calling! I would hope that had I entered into politics I would not be like the vast majority of those "Bozo's" today! I guess it's just as good that God called me to that higher calling!
Lately every day seems to be a current events bonanza! One day the stock market is in the bottom of the tank, then a day like yesterday the Dow gained 500 points! It seems that President Obama's popularity is beginning to wobble, I'm thinking that by the end of his first one hundred days that his approval rating will be in the bottom of the tank too!
However in the midst of all of this "Current Events" stuff, I'm seeing another dynamic coming alive, that is the even greater conflict of hell vs. Heaven, or darkness vs. Light, or evil vs. Good... you know, things like that!
The other day I had a very brief vision of this activity. It was not a long vision, but for a few seconds God gave me a quick glimpse at what is going on behind the scenes of all of this "Current Events" activity. I was driving in our RV park, actually about to enter the parking place where we have "Pilgrim 1" parked, and in the trees above me I saw a quick glimpse into the spirit world and I saw darkness and evil fighting very hard against the angels of God. I've seen these types of visions before, but it's been several years since I've seen the last one. This time the battle was fierce with a lot of advancing and retreating by both sides. Of course we know which side will win! We've all read the end of the Book! However, in the meantime, there will be much strong battle going forth from both sides!
Let's take a look at a very important passage of Scripture:
Ephesians 6:12 (New Living Translation)
12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Now let us look at it from a popular paraphrase:
Ephesians 6:12 (The Message)
A Fight to the Finish
" 10-12And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. "
"The Message" adds verses 10 and 11 as well. I don't know about you, but I feel that this is pretty good advice in light of today's "Current Events!" Certainly we have to take strong note of the fact that all of hell is active these days! And saying this, we have to note that all of Heaven's host is on the job fighting the enemy like never before. But....here's the point.. there is another force that should be fighting in this battle these days...You! In Ephesians 6:12 Paul says, "We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies...." Did you see it? We are fighting too!
You might ask, "Larry, how do we fight in these battles, in the midst of such a great war?" The answer is simple, we advance the Kingdom of God by performing signs, wonders and miracles! Now think about it for a minute....Your family member is very sick, what do you do? Take them to the doctor? I suppose you could, or you could find another sick person and lay hands on them with only one purpose in mind... see that person healed, delivered, saved and filled with the Holy Spirit! Oh... you also may want them starting a new church and preaching the Gospel as well! Get the point? The battle rages today and the Church continues to sleep! Oh... I forgot, the Church is not sleeping on Sunday morning from 10:00 a.m. to noon as we know that is our Christian time. Then once we hit the buffet, our Christian time seems to end for another week!
Are you a Sunday morning Christian or are you in the Kings Army? Are you just watching what is happening in our country, are you caught up in the politics of this mess, or are you changing things, battling for one soul at a time?
I like the last couple of sentences of Ephesians 6: 12 in"The Message," "This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels."
Church what time is it? It is time to wake up, put on our armor, and go forth as the kings that the King of Kings called us to be and take our Land, advance our Kingdom and Overcome!
Oh...Lord God.... I smell Revival in the Land! Kingdom Revival that is! Thank you for it Lord!
Kingdom blessings!
