The River is Here!

Natalie Update: Saturday Jan. 31

There's not a whole lot new to report so far today.  I did speak to Corinne around 8:00 a.m. today and she said that Natalie is eating well, and gaining back her birth weight.  She can only drink a bottle for 1/2 hour as they say that longer burns up more calories that she's taking in.  So she still gets a tube down her throat for many of her feedings. 

You know, I'm convinced that God is answering our prayers here!  Thanks for your help in this!

I'll post more just as soon as I hear a fresh update.

Natalie Update: Friday 1/30 at 10:54 p.m.

Wow... This morning I feel like I've entered the eye of a whirlwind!  So much to do and so little time to get it all done!

Corinne called last night from Grand Rapids.  She got to hold her little Grand daughter.  She said she's so cute!  Corinne also got to minister to a guy sitting next to her on the plane and then got to meet someone at the Devos Children's Hospital that we know from one of our MI churches.  Her baby is in the bed next to Natalie.  Can you say, "Divine appointments?"

Here's the latest on Natalie, at least as I can recall everything...  She's doing well.  She is still on the anti seizure medication, not because of more seizures, but to prevent more from occurring.  I think God's got that under control, so hopefully Stacey will be able to talk the Dr's out of that med.  I understand that that stuff is addictive and people have to be weaned off of it.

The main concern is the size of Natalie's cerebellum.  It is about 1/3rd the size of a normal baby's.  They are awaiting test results on genetics which may take another week or so to come in.  She is eating some, but when she sucks on her bottle it causes her heart rate to race.  She also seems to have some breathing issues, as Corinne said it looks like she labors to breathe.    Her eyes have cleared up and an eye specialist is still to see her this weekend.  She will have to wear that brace/cast type thing for her hip for nearly a year.  They are saying that her cleft pallet can be operated on in a year or so.  Stacey said that it's only a slit in the roof of her mouth and not a hole.  I'm thinking that God will just close that thing up! 

I'm feeling that He is working on Natalie!  I really do!  Your prayers are working... no... it's not so much your prayers, but rather our loving God who made a way, a provision for our healing 2000 years ago... "By His stripes we were healed!"  However, thank you for your prayers!  We as a family can feel them!  You are a blessing!

Natalie Update: 1/29 at 12:29 p.m. (pics)

Here's some pics of Natalie.  The one with the legs braced is being used to bring healing to her hip.  She cannot keep her hip in its socket.  She'll have to wear this many months.  It goes over her shoulders and has to keep her legs up in that position.  The one is of her older sister, Kassandra (Mugsy) holding her. 

Corinne is on the ground in Detroit, awaiting a plane change. 

No new info on Natalie.

Natalie Update: 1/29 at 10:31 a.m.

Corinne's plane is in the air, headed for Detroit.   She should arrive in Grand Rapids at 4:24 p.m.  I've not heard anything new from the hospital yet this morning.

Natalie Update: Thurs. 1/29 at 4:41 a.m.

We're up early this morning, getting ready to take Corinne to the Tampa airport.  She arrives in Grand Rapids around 5: p.m.  Please keep her in prayer for safety and good flying weather.

Stacey called around 10:30 last night with the latest.  Natalie had to have more anti-seizure meds.  She was also going to have the MRI done yet last night and she'd have to be sedated for this procedure as the day before they tried and she wiggled around too much.  She has her new cast/brace that is to hold her left hip in it's proper place.  She was born with her hip dislocated and it couldn't be relocated properly. 

We are so thankful for the Lord's supply of the plane tickets and some spending money for Corinne to take with her.  God used the Saints at New Beginnings Fellowship to help supply this need.  Thanks Gang!  You are some great people and we're honored to be a part of you!

Stacey also emailed some pictures of our new Granddaughter.  I don't have time to post them here now, but when I get back from Tampa I'll try to get them up for you.  She's a cuttie... a gift from God!

Natalie Update: 1/28 at 5:07 p.m.

Tim, Natalie's dad just called and they are still trying to do an MRI on her.  They will have to sedate her somewhat in order to keep her from squirming.  Tim said that Stacey was holding her baby when he called.  That is good!

Another update... Corinne is flying to Grand Rapids tomorrow.  She leaves Tampa early in the morning.  Please pray for all of this last minute happenings!    God provided this miracle ticket!  We've been praying that if the Lord wanted her home, that He'd supply the ticket.  Wow... what a blessing!

Natalie Update: 1/28 at 12:40 p.m.

As of a few minutes ago, there is not too much more to report on Natalie.  Corinne just got off the phone with Stacey and we are seeming to be in a waiting game for reports to come in, etc.  They are bringing in a eye specialist to look at the baby soon.

I'll report more when I know more.

One last thing... God is so specially close to us right now.  Our family is coming to the rescue to help out up in Michigan, which is taking a lot of the pressure off Corinne and I, especially Corinne.  We have 5 great Kids, and we now have 18 Grand kids, we love each one!

God is our every present help in times of needs!

Natalie Update: 1/27 at 10:18 p.m.

Stacey just called with a new update on Natalie.  She is on IV's, not being fed.  The breathing problem is all taken care of, no more O2.  She is not having any more seizures, so both of these things are a good thing!  We are waiting for the results from a spinal tap test and they are yet to do the MRI, but will do it yet tonight.  Stacey is going home for much needed rest.

The cleft pallet is internal only, only in the roof of her mouth and can be repaired by plastic surgery.  They ordered a special cast for her dislocated hip, a made of plastic, like a body sling,  and she will have to wear that several months.  They also did full blood work for genetic testing and they are calling in a special genetic doctor.  It's sounding like Natalie will be in the Devos Children's Hospital for quite a long run, maybe several weeks, this will probably be determined by the results of the tests. 

Many around the nation are praying and we're soooo thankful for that!  God is the miracle worker and we are encouraged.  Stacey is too, but very tired and emotionally drained.

Natalie Update (Our Granddaughter needing prayer!)

Update Jan. 27 at 7:15 p.m. EST

Thank you to everyone who's been praying for our new born (yesterday at 4:30 p.m.) Granddaughter, Natalie Dawn Rowe. 

She was taken to the Devos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI this morning with seizures and breathing problems.  The breathing is getting better, she's off the O2, and she's not had any more seizures.  But there is a whole list of things wrong with this little one.  She has a cleft pallet, her left hip dislocates, the back part of her brain seems smaller than normal, she may have problems with vision and a few other things that I can't remember.

They are going do a MRI at 9:00 p.m. this evening.

Please keep our daughter Stacey, her husband Tim and Corinne and I in your prayers.  We appreciate it..

I'll post updates here on the blog as I can't remember all who I've asked to pray!  So, if you'd check back for reports we'd sure appreciate it!

The Lord is so close to us right now!  Wow!!!!!

The Easy Button Again! ¡El Botón Fácil otra vez!

Greetings from Beverly Hills, FL...

On May 6, 2007 I wrote a blog post on the "Easy Button."  You remember that button from the TV commercial of those days that spoke of just pushing the "Easy Button" when you needed difficult office jobs completed.  I've often thought that many American Christians approach their walk with the Lord the same way.  These days so many approach their walk with the Lord from the stand point of "Easy Button Christianity!"

Today is Inauguration Day here in the United States!  We have a new President taking office.  I'm watching some of the functions on the TV right now.  This is really great to watch, as no other nation in the world transfers power in such an awesome way!  However,  America and the world is in a lot of trouble right now.  For a few days we have shifted our focus from that trouble to a man.  Our new President has been referred to as the "World's President."  As I view the on-going functions on TV, I'm over whelmed by how the media is treating this event.  It's like America has voted into the highest office in the world their new "Easy Button!"  It seems to me, that today,  all of the world's problems will be coming to an end!  The "Easy Button" has been pushed.  You know what?  I hope that this is indeed the case!   However, somehow I don't think that it is.  I wish President Obama well, I sure will be praying for him.  I'm thrilled that an African American has been elected President of the United States!  However, I think... no, I know that God's up to something a lot bigger, yes... a whole lot bigger!

If you have been in any of our recent meetings, you will recall that we have ministered much on the concepts stated in Hebrews 12: 25-29 (NLT):

"Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven!   When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.”   This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.   For our God is a devouring fire."

Friends, unless America (including the American Church) turns back to God we will continue on in national problems!  President Obama is not the "Easy Button!"  Actually that button does not exist.  However, our lives would go a lot better if we as a Nation were once again serving the Lord of Hosts!

Lately I've began a series of messages at New Beginnings Fellowship in Hernando, FL.  Here's the text and the entire premise of the messages:  Jeremiah 6: 16 (NIV):

"This is what the LORD says:
       "Stand at the crossroads and look;
       ask for the ancient paths,
       ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
       and you will find rest for your souls.
       But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'"

This verse really speaks for itself.  However if there was ever a day to call people back to God, it's today!  My Friend, being able to push the proverbial "Easy Button" is only in the mind of New York's ad agencies!  God is calling us all back to the true "Ancient Paths" like never before.  He wants all of us... nothing less will do!  America will you heed this word, or will you be like Ancient Israel and not obey the Lord's loving call?  Israel did not listen, they did not obey.  Therefore there was only one alternative left for God....70 years of captivity! 

Sometimes I feel like I'm like Jeremiah, calling out to the Church I love and serve, Come on back to God!  Once again, let's take the "Ancient Paths" and follow them... they will lead to the blessings of the Lord!

¡Los amigos, a menos que América (inclusive la Iglesia norteamericana) vueltas apoyen a Dios que continuaremos en problemas nacionales! ¡El presidente Obama no es el "Botón Fácil"! Realmente ese botón no existe. ¡Sin embargo, nuestras vidas irían mucho mejor si nosotros como una Nación servía una vez más al Señor de Anfitriones!

Ultimamente he empezado una serie de mensajes en Nueva Confraternidad de Principios en Hernando, FLUIDO. Aquí está el texto y la premisa entera de los mensajes: Jeremiah 6: 16 (NIV) :

"Esto es lo que el SEÑOR dice: "Soporte en el cruce y la mirada; pida los antiguos senderos, preguntan donde la manera buena es, y anda en ello, y

Dios nos llama toda espalda a los "Antiguos Senderos" verdaderos como nunca antes. ¡El desea todos nosotros... nada hará menos! ¿América le hace hace caso de esta palabra, o estará usted como Antiguo Israel y no obedece la llamada amorosa de Señor? Israel no escuchó, ellos no obedecieron. ¡Por lo tanto había sólo una alternativa dejó para Dios. años ...70 del cautiverio!

¡A veces yo me siento como estoy como Jeremiah, escatimando a la Iglesia que adoro y sirvo, Vengo en la espalda a Dios! ¡Una vez más, tomemos los "Antiguos Senderos" y sigue ellos... ellos llevarán a las bendiciones del Señor!
