Greetings from Sacramento, CA:
As a Revivalist, I think that I sometimes do "quirky" things. For instance last Fall a Brother in PA gave me a picture of Charles Finney that he took from a picture of Finney hanging in the church he founded in Oberlin, OH. I carry that picture in the back fly leaf of my Bible because Finney is one of my heroes! I like looking at this picture from time to time. Actually Corinne and I spent some time at that church, laying hands on it, and wept when we thought of the thousands of new souls that walked through those doors. We then found Finney's grave site in Oberlin, laid our hands on his grave marker, we cried like little babies!
In our travels we have met several people that had key relationships and positions with some of the great Revivalists of the past, like A.A. Allen, Jack Coe, Gen. William Booth, etc. When we meet them, I pump them for information. My questions go something like this, "What was it like to..........?" You can fill in the dots! Sometimes it amazes me how these people take such great moves of God for granted, and very nonchalantly tell some of the stories that I am starving to hear.
When I read books on past moves of God, my life just gets messed up and my world gets rocked for days. I remember reading "Diary of Signs and Wonders" by Maria Woodworth-Etter, and almost fell into a state of extreme shock! Oh how I long for the Holy Spirit moving like He did in those days!
I wish every pastor in America would take the next month or two and just teach his/her people about all of the past moves of God in America. Why? Because most people attending the churches of today do not have the slightest idea about what has happened in our American past. For instance most church members do not realize that the great Cane Ridge Revival had a most dramatic effect on the settling of the West, as Christianity was advanced westward, through this move of God. Some think that it was the Colt .45 that settled the West. It really wasn't, instead it was Revival!
The other day my good friend, Evangelist Roger Webb (www.rogerwebb.org) sent me a link to a website of a guy that I have never heard of, Raymond T. Richy. Richy was a Revivalist that had powerful meetings that greatly impacted many cities of America, notably Houston, TX. I am going to post this link below, and I really encourage you to take a look at it. My hope and prayer is that as you take the time to surf through this site that it's effect will be one of really "messing you up" too! I pray that a hunger will begin to burn within you, one that will completely consume you, that you will pray...."Give me Revival or I die!"
One last thing... as you go to the Raymond Richy website, make sure you look at the pictures of some of the meetings, especially the section entitled, "Photos From the Book."
In closing, Richy was once asked, "What is faith?" He replied, "Faith is just acting on God's word." Let's all pray in faith, acting on God's word, for a sweeping revival for America.

We arrived in Sacramento yesterday, with a great expectation in our hearts. We are asking God for a great "Gully Washer" here! Please pray for us, and for revival for America!.......PLEASE!
Kingdom blessings ~ Larry
